International Dot Day!

International Dot Day celebrates creativity, courage and collaboration!  Today we participated in Dot Day by connecting literature, art and creativity using the book, The Dot, by Peter Reynolds. In class, we discussed many, varied, and unusual things that are dots. Some ideas we came up with included flowers, paws, pancakes, and the sun!  Next, students did a transformation of a dot. They used their dot idea to write a story during writers workshop. Students also worked together during Art to create a class paw out of dots on the blacktop with chalk!
