Mapping!

We are coming to the end of our mapping unit!  We have learned about our country, our state, our city and our neighborhood!  We will be finishing our unit with a creative writing piece about a place we wish we had in Stamford and why!

There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Pie

Room 112 read the story, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Pie. After reading, we retold the story in sequence. Next, we played a game to determine the cause and effect of the events in the story. Last, we determined that the author's purpose in the story was to "entertain". We used RAP - restate the question, answer the question, and probe your answer to write a response about the author's purpose!

Stamford Museum and Nature Center

We had a great time practicing our mapping skills and learning about solids, liquids, and gases at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center!

Math: Data Day

Students practiced gathering data, entering data in a table, and drawing a bar graph by counting the number of pockets they were wearing and collecting the data!  Students also found the middle value, or median number, in the data set!
