Area and Perimeter

We have been discussing area and perimeter during Math. Perimeter is the distance around an object. Area is the measurement of the surface of an object. We practiced measuring the perimeter of both round and flat objects. We also used centimeter grid paper to measure the area of our names drawn in bubble letters. Please review the terms area and perimeter with your child at home!

Audubon Society

We had some visitors from the Audubon Society come speak to us about signs of Spring, including buds on tree branches. We learned that buds are protected by layers in the winter and the layers open in the Spring. We searched outside for new buds and discussed how we will watch them bloom as the weather gets warmer!
